Equality Under the Law

Rewatched the HBO series 'John Adams' recently. Amongst the most memorable parts is the dramatization of the Boston Massacre of 1770, in which British Army soldiers had killed five Bostonians and wounded six others by firing into a crowd they deemed a threatening mob.

When no attorney would agree to defend the British soldiers in court, John Adams agreed to do so, at risk of becoming very unpopular amongst his neighbors! How impressive and how deep is the root of EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW in our beloved USA!
