The United States Pledge of Allegiance

Did you know that 'under God' was NOT a part of the original Pledge of Allegiance?

Many do not know or have forgotton that 'under God' was ADDED during the Eisenhower Administration as a response to the fear of communisim.

In modern times some schools apparently have stopped having students recite the pledge in a bid to remove references to religion.

What if they just went back to:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice FOR ALL.
